A Year in Review: Award-Winning Wedding Journey
As we wave goodbye to another year, I can’t help but feel a whirlwind of gratitude and excitement as I look back on the incredible moments I’ve been lucky enough to capture. This year has been exceptional in many ways, not least because I’ve had the honour of receiving awards for 12 wedding images from The Guild of Photographers. Each one holds a special memory, a frozen moment in time that tells a story of love, joy, and the beautiful journey two people embark on together.
These awards span across some truly amazing venues: from the historical elegance of Allerton Castle and Carlton Towers to the rustic beauty of Loversall Farm, the luxurious backdrop of Wentbridge Hotel, and the urban chic of The Principal, York, I feel incredibly fortunate to work in such diverse and stunning settings. Each location has its own unique charm and character, which has only added to the magic of each wedding day.
The fantastic couples I’ve had the pleasure of working with make these awards even more special. It’s their stories, their personalities, and their love for each other that breathe life into every image. The laughter, the tears, the stolen glances, and the unabashed joy capturing these moments are what drives my passion for wedding photography. I am endlessly thankful to each couple for allowing me into their lives on such a significant day and for trusting me to capture their love stories.
As I reflect on this year, I’m reminded of how lucky I am to do what I love, combining my passion for photography with the opportunity to witness the most heartfelt expressions of love and celebration. These awards are not just a recognition of my work but a celebration of love and the beautiful moments we share with the people most important to us.
As we look towards the new year, I’m filled with anticipation for the weddings to come, the stories to be told, and the moments to be captured. I can’t wait to continue this journey, exploring new venues, meeting new couples, and creating more award-winning images that celebrate love in all its forms.
