A Last Minute Booking turned into a Magical Day…

I pride myself on being able to capture the magic and beauty of every wedding I photograph, no matter how last-minute the booking. Such was the case with Jenny and Kit’s wedding at Aldwark Manor in December. They had initially booked a different photographer who had let them down. Luckily I was available to step in and capture their special day.

Usually, my couples book me about two years before their wedding day, not two weeks! Nevertheless, I was happy to help as they were a lovely couple, and I love a Christmas theme for a wedding. We met for our pre-wedding consultation in a small cafe in York, and by the time we left all the details and plans were sorted. They had the final part of the jigsaw in place; we were just waiting for the special day to arrive.

Despite the dark winter day, the wedding was full of warmth, joy, and love. The couple and their guests were all in high spirits, creating a fantastic atmosphere throughout the day. I arrived early to capture some of the stunning decorations and details, including the beautiful flower arrangements and twinkling lights that created a cosy and intimate feel in the venue.

As the day went on, I captured all the special moments, from the bride getting ready with her bridesmaids to the touching ceremony and the lively reception. I caught all the emotions and details of the day, including the laughter, tears, and all the little touches that made the day uniquely theirs.

One of the day’s highlights was the gorgeous twilight photographs we could create. The early darkness in December allowed us some truly stunning photographs that captured the season’s beauty. The warm glow of the lights in the venue and the twinkling stars in the sky created a magical backdrop for the couple’s portraits.

Despite the short notice, I was delighted to have been able to help make their day even more special by providing them with beautiful photographs that they will treasure for years to come.
