The Guild of Photographers Image of the Day.

Not really an award, but still awesome…

Everyday the Guild of Photographers choose one picture to feature on their Facebook page, and today was one of mine. I was delighted when, just over a week ago, I got an email from the Guild saying that one of my photographs had been chosen from hundreds available.

The image was taken at Carlton Towers, it’s like stepping back in time when you’re there and pretty much anywhere you point the camera you have an amazing background. This spot, at the top of the main stairs is a favourite of mine. I really like the symmetry of the architecture, complimented by the décor and furnishings.

For the pose, I wanted to get separation between Natasha & Ben but still maintain a level of togetherness. I wouldn’t normally shoot the back of the grooms head but I think the interaction between them works well. I placed Natasha just off centre, assuming that this would be a double page spread in the wedding album I didn’t want the spine running through her face.

This picture also won a Bronze award back in January.
