Happy New Year...
One of my resolutions for 2021 is to enter more of my images into competitions. This isn't a vanity project (I promise!) but rather a way to improve my photography. When the results are announced it is possible, and recommended, to get some feedback from the judges. For me this feedback is invaluable as it highlights the strengths (and weaknesses) in my pictures.
The results from the Guild of Photographers are announced on the 21st of each month at around 1pm, so you can imagine the excitement throughout the photography community at this time. It is very difficult to attain an award at this level so I'm happy that this month I received two Bronze Awards.
The awards range from Platinum, Gold, Silver and Bronze. Nobody has every won a Platinum! My winning images are below.

The first image was taken at Aldwark Manor and features Jenny & Kit after dark for some Twilight Wedding Photography. It was a cold December evening so we worked quick to get the photograph, using the buildings floodlights to help light the scene.
The second image is taken at Carlton Towers with Natasha & Ben posed at the top of the main stair case in front of the stain glass window. I love the symmetry of the architecture here and often use this space for wedding pictures.
I will be entering a couple more images next month, fingers crossed...
